Turn Off Your Cell Phone

I've been a big proponent of this for a long time

I have a cell phone, but that's all it is, a phone. It doesn't do other things except text. I have it so my family can reach me in an emergency. Not that it is much help, because it doesn't work where I live in the forest. If people are really doing the things that video shows, then I am even more disconnected from society than I thought.

I too, support turning off the cell phone more often. Remember the days where folks had to go home to call someone, or open a photo album to see a photo? I encourage it in my home. My cell phone is my only phone, due to costs of a land line here, but I only have talk and text - no internet and I don't take a whole lot of photos on it (which are never shared with public either).

The poor girl bowling was just sad! I can't believe how people can't function anymore without their stupid phones! Even the son and daughter-in-law are like that. :(

I think it's the new toy mode, where you engage with the phone and not people. It's sad really, since these people doing it won't really know what communication skills are...

I just got home from a trip to town - had to go to Costco. Spent much of my time dodging people who were clogging the isles, oblivious to others as they were on their phones while shopping. I guess I am just not important enough to need to do that! Sadly, it seemed to be only females that were phone addicted... The guys got their items and got out of there!

I wish I had the $$$ to buy a cell signal kill box to carry around. I'd randomly turn it on for 10 minutes and stand back and laugh as people freaked out!

I totally agree with this!! Great video! More people should engage in the moment instead of constantly flipping through their cell phone. Thanks for sharing this with us over at the Homeacre Hop!
